Francis Sala-Diakanda, M.A., M.P., D.E.S.S.

Francis Sala-Diakanda is SSDS Representative in Cote d'Ivoire, where he serves as a senior manager with SSDS's AIDSTAR II project.

Prior to joining SSDS, he worked with a number of major development organizations including CARE International, Plan International, and Population Services International, with the Center for African Family Studies, and with the Demographic Research Unit of the University of Lome (Togo). His areas of expertise include management and supervision of professional and academic teams, capacity development, program planning, budgeting and coordination, communication for health and social marketing, national-level policy development, and government liason. He has substantial experience in the technical areas of HIV/AIDS, Reproductive Health, Governance & Reconstruction, and Refugee Resettlement.

Mr. Sala-Diakanda holds a Master's degree in Social Sciences from the Catholic University of Central Africa/Catholic Institute of Yaounde, Cameroon, a further Master's Degree in Population Studies from the Institut de Formation et de Recherche Demographiques (IFORD) in Yaounde, as well as a Graduate Studies Diploma in Population and Health Programme Management, also from IFORD. He has received advanced professional training in Leadership Development, Proposal Development, and Human Rights Issues. He is fluent in French and English.
