Lauren Komp, B.A.
Lauren Komp, who joined SSDS as a programmer in 2002, has over
25 years experience in data management, including: survey
instrument design, data entry, data cleaning, and analyzing
files from primary and secondary data sources. She is an expert
in using SAS statistical software. In addition, she has
programmed in a number of languages from PL/I to Java. Over the
years, Ms Komp has acquired extensive experience working with
most major categories of PC software, including database
management software, statistical analysis software, Internet
applications, and electronic data collection software.
Ms. Komp worked for eight years at John Snow Inc. in the
domestic health division. She participated in a wide range of
projects in the areas of substance abuse, aging, and AIDS.
She also participated in several studies evaluating state
health programs. Prior to working for JSI, Ms Komp worked at
Health Economics Research where she served as the company's
network supervisor, and research programmer for several very
large MEDICARE studies. Generally, these studies focused on
cost and utilization of health care resources across the
United States.
